"I have loved art from a young age and it’s something I feel passionate about and I love to learn new ways to improve. My art has always been a way for me to express how I’m feeling and show what’s going on in my life. When I sit down and paint it helps me calm myself, focus and sort through everything going on in my head.

I wanted the artworks I painted in 2023 to give a perspective of who I am and where I come from. I grew up in Christchurch so it has helped me feel more connected to my
whakapapa Māori in Taranaki."
