"My artworks delve into the themes of Neoclassicism and Romanticism, exploring the idea of dichotomy that defines these historical periods. I explore these using paintings from their respective periods as a blueprint, infusing them with my original ideas to convey the dichotomies. There are so many things that we have discovered, yet so much more that we do not know and will probably never understand or conceptualise. This longing to make sense of our roles here on Earth is traced back to Aristotle and Plato, whose schools of thought significantly contribute to what we understand of ourselves today. These ideas separate us from each other, and our unique life experiences shape our opinions and perspectives. We should learn to find a balance between these dichotomies to live a whole and prosperous life. My art seeks to illuminate this balance, encouraging a deeper reflection on the interaction between classical reason and romantic emotion."
