    Held in Christchurch from the 4th to the 17th April, Artstart 2025 was an exhibition made up of the top artworks shortlisted from a group of over 3,500 submissions across South Island Secondary Schools.

    MCCORMACK & MCKELLAR PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD


    Congratulations to Isabella Moala the winner of the McCormack & McKellar People’s Choice Award for 2025 with her artwork, Veiled Desires!

    Isabella takes away a $1,000 cash prize, donated by our amazing sponsor McCormack & McKellar, Antique & Fine Art Auctioneers.


    ANDERSON LLOYD SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

    Generously sponsored by Anderson Lloyd Christchurch, this years Anderson Lloyd Scholarship for was awarded to Madeline Hann for her artwork 'The Presence of Absence.'

    $5,000 SCHOLARSHIP PACKAGE:

    • $3,000 Cash Prize
    • $1,000 Artist Mentorship - the scholarship winner is paired with a local practicing artist to help support, encourage and guide their artistic development.
    • $1,000 Art Supplies - to help support and remove any financial barriers to being able to access art supplies and in tern drive continued participation in the arts.


    STAEDTLER AMBASSADOR AWARD

    This year's Ambassador Award, generously sponsored by Staedtler, was awarded to Adagio Mortlock for her artwork 'After Rain.'

    This is the first time we have had this award available. Artstart Ambassadors vote for their preferred artwork on opening night. Thank you to Staedtler for the art supplies prize pack.
