Marta Geiringer

Inspired by the works of Franz Ackerman, I found myself exploring Wellington through the lens of a surreal cybernetic future. I chose to use saturated yet dirty colours to showcase the unnatural cities that I feel we are progressing towards. Most of my painting and mixed mediums, I layered gouache with acrylic, acrylic with pastels and pastels with paint pens; this resulted in a cluttered effect in my art which captured the overstimulated city I often find myself in.
