“My art explores the connection between the physical form and the mental state of the subject. Beauty comes in many different forms and can be found everywhere - as a society we need to stop trying to conform to conventional beauty standards and start recognising that true beauty comes with individuality. As a young child I was severely injured in a car accident, which has left me with extensive physical and mental scarring. Creating art is a coping mechanism for me and it helps me to work through these issues in my head, which is why my personal experiences have such clear influences on my work.”
