The message that I want my art to radiate to the people is that art could be anything and everywhere the mind takes you to. From the simplest patterns and monochromatic tones to the most complex patterns and perplexing hues. Art is subjective and with our mind comes from our emotions, which could take us on a ride of highs and lows - allowing us to see a world full of art in different perspectives and in divergent ways. Originating from the Philippines, my family decided to settle in New Zealand when I was fourteen years old. Growing up here in New Zealand allowed me to see the world in a whole different perspective. I wasn't really exposed to exhibitions and art galleries back from where we came from. Nor parks full of trees and gardens filled with flowers blossoming
in all kinds of colours. But here in New Zealand, entering a country felt like a huge step as a teenager. It exposed me to a lot of cultures and a lot of nature. As I continued to grow up here, I saw how different life was back in my home country and I kept comparing it here, saying to myself everyday how lucky I am being here. Then I figured that the only one limiting me is myself. Ever since then I started seeing life from a whole different angle. In a more creative way. I could find inspiration wherever I go. The artworks I make now vary from styles, mediums, and subjects, taking inspiration from whatever that I see  or goes through my mind. Inspiration from whatever emotion I was feeling when I made the art. With all of my art, mirroring my perspective of the things in our alluring world.
