"Something that is important to me is camping and being able to surround myself with nature. The message I want to communicate with this art piece is to stop and enjoy your surroundings. Going on adventures with your friends, family or even by yourself can feel so rewarding. Being able to go somewhere new and visit the most incredible places and views is something anyone should be doing more often.
People, especially teenagers, can get so trapped online and on their phones that they forget who they are or what’s important. Being able to put it down and go out really does help someone find themselves and remember the beauty in life itself.
My painting, I believe, encourages that idea through its vibrant colours and that warm summer feeling. When someone looks at it I want them to hear those sounds and feel those feelings you would have when you are away from civilisation. I also kept the brush strokes looser than I would usually do to give that more organic and natural feeling."
