“Totaranui Amble is an ode to my summers spent in Totaranui. I wanted to convey the curiosity and excitement I found in exploring nature. The figure is small compared to the grandness of the trees around her. I exaggerated the textures, to make it look almost dreamlike. I’ve made many drypoint prints around places I find special. This print was the biggest that I’ve done, and was the starring role in a collection of prints I did last year surrounding different shores and beaches.”
