Francesca is a Year 13 student studying painting and printmaking at level 3 of NCEA. Francesca’s interest in art largely stems from growing up surrounded by an art collection showcasing modern New Zealand art. Her work from her level 2 printmaking was created based on ideas and techniques she became interested in. These included contrasting imagery and surrealism, both of which are shown in her print depicting joyless children suspended in a play-ground type setting.
