My work explores the teenage experience—a universal yet often overlooked perspective. Teens exist in an in-between space, expected to lead yet rarely given real agency. Despite every adult having been a teen, few seem to remember what it truly felt like. I focus on teen spaces, particularly bedrooms, which symbolise control, self-expression, and privacy—things I’ve never fully had. Through cluttered, detailed compositions, I carefully construct environments where every element helps tell a story. With adulthood approaching, I fear losing touch with these experiences, so my art serves as a way to preserve the reality of being young, frustrated, and unheard. Inspired by Vincent Giarrano, Tracey Emin, and Adrienne Salinger, my work aims to make the teenage perspective visible, understood, and remembered.
