"I want my art to convey a sense of memory and loss, with hope. My art is focused on the Christchurch earthquake that destroyed the city and the following rebuild. When people look at my art, I want them to see what the earthquakes did to the city, and also how we have begun to rebuild afterwards.

The beautiful things that we lost and also the beautiful things that are emerging from that loss. I’ve put some of my favourite places to visit as a kid into my art, and also the feeling that the earthquake left every Christchurch kid with."
