“I wanted to convey the emotions I feel when I’m in two contrasting places… my farm and the city. The countryside never fails to make me smile, and to me it represents peacefulness, belonging and freedom. This contrasts the isolated feeling I got in the city, and in particular, Ashburton. I have always had a love for painting and my parents would often call me a production line for the amount of artworks I could pump out in a day. I would paint and draw anything I could see, imagine or find on our farm… from the mountains to water troughs to green paddocks, horses and cows. Looking at it now, my childhood love of painting landscapes and places close to home and emotions surrounding those times is my  source for inspiration which can be seen in my artwork."
